U District Opens Outdoor Dining Plaza
In anticipation of the arrival of the Link Light Rail in the Fall of 2021, the U District Partnership is thrilled to announce the launch of the NE 43rd Street Plaza, which is one of many improvements that have been made in the neighborhood to accommodate the growing number of people returning to the District. This plaza is in direct response to the challenges of Covid-19, turning streets and sidewalks into dining spaces filled with chairs and tables. A study by the City of Seattle showed that 100% of business owners believed these to have improved their businesses. Riding the momentum of the plaza, the U District Partnership continues to work with other businesses to assist them in implementing outdoor dining.
