15 BLOCKS OF OUTDOOR SHOPPING
The 2026 U District Street Fair returned with over fifteen-blocks of outdoor shopping, featuring hundreds of artists, makers, and small businesses from all over the region. First held in 1970, the U District Street Fair was the first of its kind in the nation to close a large commercial avenue for the sale of art and crafts. Today many neighborhoods have borrowed this concept, but it’s exciting that this tradition continues in the U District and still promotes small businesses and artists in our community.
